Micro-learning is a new learning strategy aimed at closing knowledge gaps with bite-sized lessons. The new version of the IELTS Tips app, launched last week, applies this theory to IELTS preparation. Test-takers install the app and it pushes out a handy IELTS prep tip every morning for them to read on their way to school or work.
This advice comes from British Council IELTS experts as well as IELTS teachers and authors from around the world. Tips include:
- How to manage your time in the Reading test
- How to cope with distractors in the Listening test
- What to do if you don’t understand the question in the Speaking test
This comment, left on the IELTS blog by Criss, gives a quick overview from the perspective of a test-taker:
‘I have very good experience with IELTS TIPS APP. Recently its structure got updated which leads easy to read and more attractive. I like this App. It gives us Reading, Writing, Speaking, Listening, and Preparation tips. Thanks for creating such a nice app for free. I hope more people will get benefit from it. I feel it is useful for IELTS exam as well as in real life.
As Criss points out, the app is free and is an element in the expanding range of IELTS prep materials put together by ClarityEnglish and the British Council.
Search for ‘IELTS Tips’ at the App Store or Google Play, or point your students to this page.
