From Theory to Practice: Case Studies in Clarity

by | 17 February 2026

Choosing the right digital resources is only the first step. The real challenge is working out how to implement them effectively so that they support teachers, engage learners, and deliver measurable progress. One of the best ways to find answers is to look at what has worked for others.

That’s why we’ve pulled together this series of three blogs focused on real-world case studies. The posts below explore how schools and institutions have used Clarity programs to support their learners – and what happened as a result. And we’ve added two others which we hope you will find thought-provoking.

  1. Streamlining placement and progress: A case study from Jamestown English Center

Marlon Gomez, Jamestown English Center’s Academic Director, combined the Dynamic Placement Test and Road to IELTS to create an effective learning journey for his students.

  1. From guesswork to guided growth: A placement testing success story

Abigail Cutts, Head of English at Wellington College International in Hangzhou, shared her standardised, data-driven approach to placement testing for English. It benefits teachers, parents and, most importantly, the students themselves.

  1. Dynamic Placement Test and L1 Arabic teachers of English

Amina Shebani, English Programmes Consultant at the British Council Libya, explains how the Dynamic Placement test was deployed as a key component in their teacher training program.

Independent, not alone: How teachers can scaffold self-study success

The StudyStream English package offers students a semi-directed study program and offers teachers a tool to help their learners navigate the pitfalls of independent learning. Here’s how you can use it.

From console to classroom: How video games are building language skills

Could there be more to gaming than meets the eye? It’s worth thinking about how we can guide learners towards activities that offer authentic opportunities for language use. For this young student, language proficiency and gaming success go hand-in-hand.

Together, these stories highlight common challenges and creative, effective solutions. If you’re exploring new ways to deploy language learning tools, we hope these stories offer clarity, inspiration, and practical insight.
